This Communications and Information occupational badge design was replaced by Cyberspace Support in 2009. Replacement of occupational badges is a relatively rare occurrence in the Air Force. The other notable example of this was the replacement of the Space and Missile badge, first introduced in 1993, with the Space badge in 2005 (it was subsequently renamed the Space Operations badge).
